Backing Up Photos Automatically

1. Choose a service (Google Photos for Android, iCloud for Apple, or another trusted cloud).
2. Sign into the device with the account you want to use.
3. Open the Photos app and find Backup & Sync (or iCloud Photos) settings.
4. Turn on automatic backup and choose “Wi‑Fi only” to save mobile data.
5. Check initial upload progress and confirm photos appear in the cloud account.
6. Make sure there’s enough cloud storage; upgrade or free space if needed.

2. Create a user account for each family member and enable backup/sharing.
3. Install the NAS backup app on phones and enable automatic uploads over Wi‑Fi.
4. Verify backups on the NAS admin page and schedule regular checks.
5. Consider RAID or backup to a second location for extra safety.

• Backup not starting - check Wi‑Fi connection, app permissions for storage/photos, and available cloud/NAS space.
• Uploads stuck - restart the app and device; try a different Wi‑Fi network for the initial sync.
• Duplicate photos: check app settings for duplicate detection or merge options.

• Do an initial manual backup on a weekday evening when home Wi‑Fi is quiet.
• Keep one printed copy of how to access the backup for carers or relatives.
• Regularly review cloud storage and clear old screenshots or blurred photos.
